Efforts are being exerted in many developing countries to promote financial inclusion by increasing individuals’ access products and services. However, literature suggests that the supply of services per se may not help expanding unless concerted efforts enhancing literacy. This is because financially literate individuals more likely appreciate value hence take up products. paper reports link between literacy using data from a demand side survey conducted Kenya Tanzania 2016 covering total 6029 individuals. Results our instrumental variable regression analysis confirmed strong driver inclusion. implies need be accompanied with campaigns both countries.
